About Ansaar UK
Ansaar Organisation was formed to provide community based activities, focusing mainly on the BME community in Dewsbury, Batley and surrounding areas, although our users come from many different backgrounds and from all over North Kirklees.
Ansaar Organisation was formed in 2001 by a small group of young people from across Dewsbury and Batley to fill a much needed gap in providing services which were available within the community.
They felt important issues like health, education, employment and recreational were not being promoted to their full potential.
The group came together to look at different ways in which they could help young people, within North Kirklees, to develop skills and to empower them and to make a difference to society through volunteering.
Ansaar helps young people to explore active citizenship, become leaders, become role models for future generations, welcome education, promote engagement and respect values and intergenerational cohesion. Ansaar will help develop young people’s skills and experience through mentoring and leadership opportunities.
We feel that there is a need to increase the opportunities afforded to BME individuals and communities to participate, interact and contribute to the wider society.
